We had a meeting on Sunday at Northeast Regional and this is some of the stuff that we discussed.
We know it is very early to be thinking about Christmas and the annual greeting for the winter state newsletter, but, if you want you name in the greeting, please make sure to have the $2 per family or couple money submitted by the October indoor meeting. Last year several people did not have their name listed under the Lamplighters banner, we do not want that to happen again this year. The fall rally hospitality was mentioned, I did email Barb Crombie from the Crackpots, they are hosting the rally this year, and Lamplighters is not responsible for one. She did indicate that the group will be shorthanded, so if you plan to attend the rally, please ask if there is anything that is needed, she and her chapter will appreciate the help. She said that Paul is on 2 different chemo treatments and she is not sure that they will even be able to attend. Please keep them in your prayers.
The Northeast Regional was well attended by Connecticut, we had 19 families there, the most of any state, and the noise parade was a true indication of Ct FCRV spirit. Maine FCRV made us all feel welcome, and we look forward to going to NJ next year in August. The only sad part about the weekend was the news of the sudden passing of our state treasurer, Cliff Yanke. He will be missed by both the state staff and his own chapter, the Happy Wanderers. Jack and I do plan to attend the calling hours and service on Thursday.
There are lots more camping opportunities available before the season is over, the Terryville Fair, Make-a-Wish, Fall Rally, different scheduled weekends, so we hope that you will be out and enjoying them.
Until next time, Linda
